At the award-winning Rainforestation Nature Park, you'll get to experience indigenous culture, Australian native wildlife and World Heritage listed rainforest all on one site. Rainforestation Nature Park has three main attractions:
Army Duck Rainforest Tours - Experience the tropical rainforest from a totally unique perspective - aboard an amphibious World War 2 Army Duck. See fascinating plants and wildlife as you pass by, before splashing into the lake for a cruise. With propeller engaged, your Army Duck cruises up to the water’s edge whilst turtles, fish and eels swim up close.
Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience - Learn about aboriginal culture with this interactive experience. Watch a traditional dance performance depicting animals, food gathering, and hunting.On the guided Dreamtime Walk you’ll try your hand at boomerang throwing, and observe spear-throwing and didgeridoo playing. At the Cultural Centre, you can also purchase authentic artworks.
Koala & Wildlife Park - Join a guided tour on our covered boardwalks providing excellent viewing of native Australian animals, including crocodiles, wombats, dingoes, snakes, lizards, frogs, and the cassowary. Handfeed kangaroos and wallabies, observe the tiger quoll, or have your photo taken cuddling a cute koala, or holding a small crocodile (optional extra).

Location
Rainforestation Nature Park is located 5 minutes travel from Kuranda Village and 30 minutes from Cairns.
Directions
- Departing Cairns accommodation, travel North on Sheridan Street.
- As you pass the airport on your right, Sheridan Street becomes the Captain Cook Highway.
- You will soon cross the Barron River Bridge.
- Continue through the Machans Beach, Holloways Beach and Yorkeys Knob and Caravonica roundabouts.
- At the Smithfield roundabout turn left onto the Kennedy Highway, passing Smithfield Shopping Centre on your right and join the Kuranda Range.
- You may wish to stop at Henry Ross Lookout for a scenic view of Cairns and the coast.
- From Henry Ross Lookout, continue on the Kennedy Highway for approx. 5 km, and you will see a sign indicating a right hand turn off for Rainforestation.
