With guaranteed water levels all year round, the Barron River makes for the ideal rafting destination due to its proximity to Cairns.
Booking this tour will let you join a friendly, experienced guide and the rest of your rafters on the exhilarating rapids of the Barron River as it winds its way through the heart of the Barron Gorge National Park. You'll be surrounded by the beautiful greenery of Cairns' tropical natural rainforest that provides a great visual contrast to the waters you'll be having fun on - if you're out for a semi-challenging, enjoyable rafting experience in the Cairns region, then this is the package for you!

“ We were initially doubtful as it was raining badly for last 5 days and water is streaming with force. Our guide JOSH made it look like very easy for our group end of the day. It was a memorable day out in Barron River with Fuming Fury and we can never forget this experience. Now all set for higher grades .. Josh was marvellous.

7 months agoWhite water rafting on the Barron river was great fun. A fun afternoon.
The white water rafting was great fun and our guide Justin was excellent. I would have preferred less stop/start as we had so many other rafts in the group and had to wait each time over each rapid. It would be better to be able to go right through.
2 years agoAbsolutely fabulous. My husband and I loved it. The tour instructors were so informative about what we should do as it was our first time. Would highly recommend it.
My husband and I had never done white water rafting but we were put at ease as soon as we arrived there. Tour operators were very informative about what we were to do when they gave us the instructions. It was so much fun and we both loved it. We met some lovely people on the tour and had a great laugh with them. As we were beginners doing this it was the right one for us. They let us have a swim in the water halfway through which I took advantage of. The water was 26 degrees and beautiful. Totally recommend this tour for anyone loving the water.

Great team and a great experience. It is for all levels, so if you are looking for something wild maybe they are not the best rapids ever. But fully recommended if you have enough time around Queensland. The river and the landscapes are breathtaking. Marko the best!
3 years agoA great afternoon of action on the Barron River
A great afternoon of action on the Barron River. We did self-drive and were picked up near caravan park on lake placid road. A short drive up to the top with a little paperwork on the way went in no time. Did this with my 2 boys and they also loved it. The guides were well drilled and made it good fun. Great scenery which was a bonus to the action itself. Keen to do it again.
4 years agoHonestly it was such a great experience
Honestly it was such a great experience! The instructors were incredibly friendly and helped everybody feel comfortable and at ease, we had a lot of fun together as a group. We didn't know everybody in the raft but by then end we were a team! Even though our raft got stuck at one point, throwing a few people out, the instructors remained calm and helped make sure everybody was safe. All the equipment was in good condition, I felt safe at all times and was able to enjoy the ride! I would 100% do this again and would 100% recommend the experience to friends.

Its a wonderful experience we had with u guys. Team is very friendly. They made it so safe and secure. We were scared initially but got comfortable once we started it. Max gave us briefing before starting and it was great. Enjoyed the joke max told us during the rafting. You guys really work hard to make these acrivities wonderful. Really appreciate it. Will definitely recommend to family and friends back home. Thanks a lot!

The day was terrific. Our guide Dylan was great fun and made the trip down the river entertaining. The rafting crew were highly professional and proficient in getting the group out and moving quickly. The great start for a first time white water rafting. Thanks.
7 years agoTime to pickup: sharp on time
Time to pickup: sharp on time. Attention by staff: superb. They walked us carefully through the process, especially since this was our first time. Their names were Mickey (from Kiwiland) and Ben (The pirate who boarded our ship as he wished). For them, we want to express our best words of praise and gratitude. They made this an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend this tour and this company for river rafting in Cairns.
8 years agoThis was a thoroughly enjoyable and exhilarating experience
This was a thoroughly enjoyable and exhilarating experience. I'd never done white water rafting before and the instruction we were given before hand set us all up well for what to do and how to deal with every situation that arose. From the first rapid to the last it was adrenaline pumping and full of laughs and fun. At the end we spent 15 minutes or so cruising gently over lake placid while our guide gave us a biology talk on the local area and in particular the rain forest. A thoroughly enjoyable half day from beginning to end. I would highly recommend anyone to do this. We had a guy on with us who couldn't swim and he was fine so there's no excuse not to try this amazing experience. What you waiting for. Book it. You won't regret it.
8 years ago“Take some dry clothes with you for the return journey home, as you will get really wet on the tour. You can leave extra clothing on the bus, but it's suggested to leave any valuables at your hotel, as you won't want to lose them in the river.”
