“ We signed up last minute to do the snorkel tour as we wanted to guarantee we saw the most we could. This was not disappointing. We were taken out to the far reefs and given an hour to snorkel around at our own pace. Plenty of staff around, should you need help. The transfer from Cairns to Green Island and back was comfortable, onboard snacks and bar and overall a great experience.

6 months agoIt was such a great island to runaway to! Love how secluded and peaceful it was. The current of the waters were strong when we were there but the staff still made sure it was still worth a trip to snorkel as she pointed out where there were. In the whole trip, we saw a decent number of all range of sea creatures up close! - sharks, turtles and clownfishes!
1 year agoGreat day trip from Cairns. Friendly staff and easy to access beaches, reefs, amenities and shops. We went on the boat reef tour as an extra and got to see a great reef and some turtles from the boat. Recommend if you are looking to see reefs and lots of water life.
1 year agoEvery land-based employee at Cairns and on Green Island and the ship's crew members were very friendly, helpful and upbeat. The food offerings were limited and there were long queues for refreshments of any kind. For breakfast, I managed to buy a packaged sandwich on white bread. After being on the island for almost 6 hours I noticed that the queue for cooked food had diminished considerably, and when I got the the counter was told that the only food available was ice cream. The two bathrooms on the island were exceptionally clean and I was able to cleanly deal with my contact lenses before a well-lit mirror which I needed to do in order to snorkel. I rented a stinger suit at the dive shop with no difficulty, though the shop was closed when I arrived. My impression is that many staff members on the island came there on the same vessel that I did, so it took them a while to get ready for business. The coral I saw was mostly dead though it was heartening to see new growth starting in places. There was a good variety of fish, but very limited numbers of them. It isn't like it was when I first snorkeled there in 1972. All in all, I must give all the staff a strong pass for optimistically fulfilling their duties. It also must be recognized that after two years of inactivity due to COVID, it must be hard for management to suddenly ramp up operations for the Easter break. 3 out of 5 it is. The island is beautiful.
2 years agoLovely place to visit for a day. Snorkelling to see many tropical fishes and sea turtles just 100 meters away from the shore. The crew on the boat were so lovely, would definitely book again If we come back! The staff who took us for the boat snorkelling tour went beyond their duties by taking us to a guided snorkelling tour when my husband was scared about the rough sea currents. We could see colourful reefs and more tropical fish.
2 years agoWe took this transfer from Cairns (Reef Fleet Terminal) to Green Island. The boat and it's staff were superb. You can even book activities and/or discuss them with the staff on the voyage over to the island. Would definitely book a transfer with this company again!
