Explore Kuranda at your own pace where all you need to do is make your way to the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and the rest is taken care of for you - now that’s a holiday! Your journey starts with a scenic drive to the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Meet your hostess/driver at Skyrail's covered bus stop where you will be transferred by coach to Freshwater Station for the journey on Kuranda Scenic Rail.

Kuranda Scenic Railway: Stop at the Barron Falls Station and then slowly wind your up the mountain passing through 15 tunnels and the photogenic trestle bridge at Stoney Creek Falls. Kuranda Village: The amount of free time you would like to spend in Kuranda is up to you, you will be provided with a free village map so that you can make the most of your day in Kuranda. Skyrail Rainforest Cableway: The gondola ride takes approximately 1.5 hours enjoying panoramic views of the Coral Sea and rainforest surrounds.

Trip changed to hotel pickup which went well, no problems.

Great rail trip and time spent in Kuranda. Skyrail very enjoyable and all sections of the trip went smoothly. Drop off back to hotel uneventful. Weather could have been better but that is the luck of the draw. Overall a great, well organised day trip in a very scenic environment.

Very unhappy with this tour. Totally not what we paid for. Information was misleading.

The voucher we were sent requested we arrive at 7.50 for an 8.10 departure for the train leaving at 8.50. We waited nearly an hour & then found out that this was completely incorrect. There was no 8.50 train at all & hadn’t been for some time. When we were finally met by a representative from Down Under Tours they then explained that we would now have to catch the sky rail & then have to catch the train back at 3.30pm. The tour you booked us on said we would return at 12.45. We had made other plans for the afternoon which then had to be cancelled. You booked us on a tour that didn’t actually exist. I know you will probably say we should’ve confirmed the details but that does not excuse the fact that when you sold us this tour it was based on outdated information & totally incorrect. I honestly believe a refund or some sort of compensation should be forthcoming.

Excellent

Excellent! What a great day. We loved every minute, two very different experiences but both fab. The rail journey is full of history and spectacular views. The cable cars were like floating in the clouds, plenty of time to sit back enjoy the view.

The seats are allocated and it would be easiest for single parents and all parents if the people booking with infants and young children were seated on carriages with baby change tables

The seats are allocated and it would be easiest for single parents and all parents if the people booking with infants and young children were seated on carriages with baby change tables, as I was stressed and extremely frustrated to get off the train and follow signs to the toilets to find no baby toilet. Then when asking (a friendly and helpful staff member) where the change tables were she led me to a toilet back in n the opposite direction which was locked and therefore meant we had to walk back and get onto the upper carriages and use a changing table on the train. Apart from that, the staff were lovely and so was the lovely nature scenes.

We really enjoyed exploring Kuranda with its numerous sights!!! Booking with Experience Oz was easy, however, we first had the fear that it did not work out - we then got the confirmation a couple of hours later in the morning. It was the right decision to go up by Train und return by Skyrail! Using the Skyrail was awesome because we were literally flying right above the rainforest. If you are staying near cairns: book a ride with the Skyrail!!

Great scenery and a relaxing train ride to Kuranda

Great scenery and a relaxing train ride to Kuranda. Enjoyed looking around and visiting the butterfly sanctuary and koala gardens. Sky rail trip back was great. Even though there was some light rain it didn’t detract from the day. Well worth doing, will be doing again in the future.

If you are visiting Far North Queensland

If you are visiting Far North Queensland, do yourself a favour and take this tour! We had the best day, everything ran smoothly and both the rail and cable car offer amazing unique experiences. I would give this experience 6 out of 5 if I could - highly recommended.

We absolutely loved this day trip

We absolutely loved this day trip. The train ride up through the mountain was excellent! The village was great with plenty to see and do. Then all topped off with the wonderful gondola ride back down the hill to our car. Perfect day out! Highly recommend.

Our Kuranda train and Skyrail trip were great

Our Kuranda train and Skyrail trip were great. All details were very clear which made our day stress free. The hostess and coach driver was very helpful. The commentary on the train was very informative and interesting. The 3 hours in Kuranda gave us time to visit the shops and markets as well as 2 attractions. Thanks for a very enjoyable day.
