Enjoy a great day tour to Kuranda combining a scenic return journey and an adventurous crocodile experience at Hartley's Crocodile Adventures.
This tour picks you up from your accommodation in Cairns and you collect your Kuranda Boarding Pass offering discounted entry into a selection of the iconic Kuranda attractions as well as a detailed map including reference points to ensure your day runs as smoothly as possible.
Board the historic train at Freshwater Station and relax in your pre-booked preferential seating on the Kuranda Scenic Railway where you will begin your day tour to Kuranda. This historical train journey winds its way through the rainforests and past Barron Falls – enjoy the scenic wonders looking over Cairns.
Once at Kuranda Rainforest Village there is a chance to explore, dine and shop for approximately one hour before boarding the next scenic part of your tour on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Here you can use your Kuranda Boarding Pass to avoid the ticketing lines at Skyrail and proceed directly to the boarding area at 11.30am. Enjoy Skyrail - the world's most beautiful rainforest experience. There are two stops en route to explore, including boardwalks and the CSIRO Interpretive Centre. A coach will be waiting at Caravonica Lakes to transfer you to Hartley's Crocodile Adventures.
This is the best place to see crocodiles in Tropical North Queensland. Highlights of the park include the Wetlands Cruise where guests will be able to experience the crocs being pole-fed up close as they lunge to grab their food, Crocodile Attack Show and Snake Show. At the end of the day, the tour will transfer you back to your accommodation in Cairns.
“ We did the Kuranda Scenic Rail, Skyrail and Hartleys Crocodile Adventures. A great and well organised day was had by our family of four. Highly recommended as you get the opportunity to do multiple activities in one day. Definitely something we recommend to families.
Absolutely great experience - good value for money. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I loved everything that this tour had to offer. The only complaint was that there was not enough time to explore Kuranda village (probably just less than one hour)
1 month agoIt is a good combo with three different, special experiences - well organised! The scenic railway and skyrail were great rides with scenic views over the rainforest and waterfalls, perfect also for children. Hartley is a big park with crocodile, koalas, kangaroos/wallabies etc. - the human-made lagoon is great for observing crocodiles.
2 months agoOverall, the communication and what our options were under these circumstances were not great. We had to call often... The company did handle it quite well and kept us informed as much as possible but the train delay minimised our experience of Kuranda.

4 years agoA great day trip loved the experience. The day was filled with different elements, we travelled with small children so it was a sure-fire that they never got bored. We think the whole trip was worth the price tag and would definitely do it again. The only downside is that we didn’t have enough time to do a rainforest walk at the red peak station. We were told that if we did the walk, we would’ve missed our bus to Hartleys. A bit better planning would be good for those who are interested in the rainforest walks. Otherwise a great day overall!
4 years agoHonestly the best planned day tour I have ever done! From start to finish everything was perfectly planned so you had just enough time to spend at each activity and doing both the Skyrail and train and then the crocodile farm meant you had two wonderful experiences fit into one!
4 years agoIt was such a great combination. Drivers were very on time and accommodated to start with, knowledgeable and friendly too of course. Skyrail was amazing, crocodile farm was full of fun, esp the croc show, very entertaining and educational. The train itself was ok the only downside is someone sitting on my seat the whole time so I missed quite a bit of photo-shooting chance. But don't expect too much from the scene, I purely like getting on a train so it was fine for me.
4 years agoThis trip is a good alternative program for rainy days. The train takes you through the rainforest and passes beautiful places like waterfalls. The Skyrail takes you then back from Kuranda to the valley station. A bus takes you then to Hartleys which introduces to a whole range of Australian animals.
4 years agoGreat experience! The crocodile show is must see activity. This is the best show! One hour in Kuranda is a little bit rushed but its good enough for the non-shopping traveller. The coach driver is lovely and provides good service plus useful advice as well.
5 years agoA peaceful, beautiful and fun way to spend your day going up on the Skyrail from Cairns to Kuranda, absolutely fantastic journey, incredible experience, great fun and unique! What a great tour, the Rainforest is beautiful and extensive, and the village is adorable, birds are beautiful, all in all, a day an exciting place, definitely worth a visit, great for family, solo or honeymoon, such an enjoyable experience! We loved it.
7 years ago“Make sure to stop in at the Red Peak and Barron Falls stations to enjoy a self-guided rainforest walk and close up views of the waterfalls during the Kuranda Skyrail Cableway.”
