Enjoy a wonderful balance of Great Barrier Reef scenery and convenience with a tour from Cairns to an activity platform on the reef for several hours worth of fun in the sun and sea! On this Cairns to pontoon full-day trip departing at 9:30am, you'll have approximately four hours to explore the marine life and glorious coral of the Outer Great Barrier Reef from the Moore Reef pontoon without having to invest too much time or money that longer cruises require. Be amazed and inspired by the unsurpassed beauty and splendour of this underwater playground, then enjoy a tasty picnic lunch to refresh your senses.
Heading out and back to the platform, you'll travel in luxury onboard a modern and spacious air-conditioned catamaran, which departs daily from the Reef Fleet Terminal in the centre of Cairns. With all snorkelling equipment and necessary inclusions required, you'll have everything you'll need for a satisfying and memorable day exploring Australia's greatest natural wonder.
“ If you do not have lots of time, we can fully recommend this half-day tour, because it takes you to Green Island, surrounded by reef. You can see colourful fish in the shallow water near to the beaches. There is also a beach with lifeguard and a resort where you can get something to eat. The boat trip from Cairns to Green Island can be rougher if the weather conditions are not ideal, but the staff always keep an eye on you. Perfect trip, thank you!

2 months agoDefinitely value for money, we found Sunlover Reef Cruise to be well organised and really enjoyable. Experience Oz offers great discounts and were easy to book online. The catamaran was big and clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. The buffet lunch offered a variety for everyone, though you need to keep an eye on the time as once you arrive at the pontoon and jump in the water to view the fish and reef, the time goes very quickly. I would suggest trying to lunch early though we didn't miss out. Great spot at Moore Reef, with lots of fish around. The bottomless boat and submarine rides were an added bonus when you've had enough of swimming. The weather and water temperature were just perfect for this time of year. We also hired a GoPro 9 for $78 and took hundreds of really clear colourful photos that turned out so good - you also get to keep the SD card. We all had a blast and would definitely do it again 😁
5 months agoThe staff on the boat were all friendly and more than happy to help. Massive thanks to Evan for the first dive. It was so MAGICAL, I had to book a second dive right there and then. AMAZING Experience and I will be recommending Sunlover Cruises. I will be back!!!
6 months agoSuch a great day, apart from the rough weather & getting sea sick (which is out of anyones hands). the underwater sub not running on the day was a shame and would have been good to know in advance but overall we had a ball. Booked through experience Oz & received discounts which is always a bonus.
1 year agoIt was a great day out snorkelling with my daughter at Moore reef. It was family friendly and was great to see some allergy friendly food options which suited my daughter. The Crew were friendly and informative. The weather wasn’t perfect but the rain held off while we were out there.
2 years agoGreat day of snorkelling. Lots of fish and we saw a few turtles. Would highly recommend if you're an occasional snorkeller. Great buffet lunch. We went on the glass bottom boat and semi submerged boat. They had a marine botanist on board able to answer any questions.
2 years agoOur family of 7 absolutely loved our Great Barrier Reef experience. There was really something for everyone. The older kids loved the waterslide and everyone had a go at snorkelling. The Buffet Lunch was a hit with everyone and the underwater submarine was another experience to top off a great day. Such a fabulous day for the whole family.
2 years agoThank you to Great Barrier Reef Cruises. We had a rough start out on the water, but once we got to the reef it was awesome. The water was warm and inviting and the coral was as beautiful as expected. Loved the glass bottom boat. The staff were so informative about everything. Thanks again, we will be back.
2 years agoWhat a fantastic day out on the reef. This is a great day out for the whole family. The lunch is okay. There was a selection of hot and cold food. The staff were fantastic so polite helpful and entertaining. Great to see our female captain - she was awesome. The boat was kept clean for the whole time from the start to the end of the day. The staff are an asset to this company. Recommend this company and adventure.
2 years ago“Learn about Moore Reef on this Great Barrier Reef day cruise with marine naturalists on board. If you aren't a great swimmer, you can can hold onto an inflatable ring and join your snorkel guide on a tour of the best spots of the coral reef.”
