This must-visit Cairns attraction is full of fun and adventure for all ages to enjoy, Cairns Aquarium will give you a look into the animals that live in both the rainforests and the oceans of Far North Queensland. There are also various Habitat Talks, animal feeding sessions and terrestrial and marine touch tanks that the kids will love. Home to over 16,000 aquatic animals, this is one of Queensland's biggest and best aquariums.
“ The boys loved our outing to the aquarium. Parking was a breeze. There were a lot of 3 hour free car parking spots within walking distance to the aquarium. The online booking with Experience Oz was so easy and allowed us to skip the long queue upon arrival. I will definitely prebook next time we visit. The aquarium had a lot of interactive exhibits that both boys really enjoyed. The educational presentations were also highly enjoyable. They also loved the hands-on touch tanks! Can’t wait to visit again.

2 months agoAn excellent experience. We lost count of how many ‘windows’ we looked in on both large and small. The very big aquarium encounters were breathtaking. If we’d been more nimble we’d have crawled through the other spaces too. We took our time but found we could easily walk through in an hour. Thank you!
3 months agoFabulous aquarium. Very thorough experience with both wetlands and ocean animals. All our family members had a great time here, we will be coming back again soon and will try the dinner experience next time. And it was very fairly priced. We loved the gift shop too.
5 months agoIt was a great experience to visit the Cairns Aquarium. It was nice to sit and listen to the knowledgeable staff during the planned presentation. I love the aquarium with sharks and rays. An absolutely brilliant day and I recommend arriving early so you don't have to rush.
5 months agoIt is worth the money, you can spend at least 3 hours there watching all the fish and other animals, and so many activities during the day, and a nice restaurant. Don't forget to get your map when you enter that tells you about all the animals and the show times.
5 months agoOur family had fun, but we were underwhelmed by the aquarium. We were expecting better touch pool experience. Being able to to touch one starfish and some shark eggs was not what we envisioned. Other aquariums we’ve been to were better value for money.
7 months agoSo educational and lots to see. Easy to get around. Very well organised and displayed. Pre booking made it easy to walk straight in, no waiting at all. Kids enjoyed the talks on the animals especially the different sharks and rays in the large tank. They also enjoyed reading about each display.
7 months agoCairns Aquarium is super kind with the booking system they can adjust your days over the phone with extra kindness and I think it helps a lot when you have to fix the date upon purchasing the ticket on Experience Oz. Experience Oz I think works out the cheapest as they also give you the voucher for reviewing your experience.
11 months agoThe place has got a free street parking spaces (3-hours) which is right next to the entrance so it will be so handy for you to park as it is quite in the middle of Cairns City. Also they do have the restaurant (Dundees) next to which can be quite handy too. It's not as big is the one in Sydney but still worth a visit in Cairns.
11 months agoThis aquarium compared to others around the world was a bit disappointing. They don't miss you on the entrance fee for a pretty small aquarium compared to others for similar entrance fees. That being said there are some lovely fish and tanks. If you have been to a bigger aquarium before save your money.
